Background on the Eastern Rapid Transit corridor

The City of Winnipeg’s proposed Eastern Rapid Transit Corridor has a long history. Two main routes options have thus far been proposed for the busway that will connect downtown to Transcona, one going through North St. Boniface the other going through Point Douglas and Elmwood.

In my article for The Herald I discuss and summarize some of that history.

In the process of writing the article I came across a number of City documents over the past 15 years referencing the Eastern Rapid Transit Corridor. Readers wanting to dig a bit deeper may consider browsing through them (beware, they can be pretty dry):
