The recently reestablished Glenelm Neighbourhood Association (GENA) had it’s Annual General Meeting on Jan. 20, 2017. I recount the events in my latest Herald article here.

A lot of interesting Elmwood area news was acquired by speaking to people at the meeting. I spoke to an urban planner and Glenelm resident working on a local background study GENA and the Chalmers Neighbourhood Renewal Corporation (CNRC) are conducting, hopefully to support a future local area plan.

One also found out about the CNRC’s plans for repurposing a vacant property on Henderson Highway and Johnson Avenue. That will be an interesting development to follow in the coming months.
